Caterpillars Room
Toddler Program
Our program encourages children to form positive relationships and connections, fostering trust in their abilities to take responsibility and challenge ideas. Positive peer relationships support safe and engaging learning environments where children learn from and with one another.
Children engage in a variety of activities, including gardening, arts and crafts, music and movement, physical play, block building, sand and water play, science experiments, and early literacy and numeracy activities. Group games allow children to take ownership and lead their play, while small group experiences enhance their capabilities and confidence. Educators support sustainability practices, teaching children to care for their learning environment and each other.
From their very first moments, children absorb information and learn from their surroundings. In these early years, they develop essential skills such as listening, consideration, and reflection. The skills acquired in the toddler program lay the foundation for lifelong learning, positively shaping their future approaches to learning.
Our high-quality, play-based toddler program is grounded in current research and planned by experienced educators. Through play, children learn the skills, knowledge, feelings, and dispositions necessary for lifelong learning. The program encourages exploration, creativity, self-help skills, and early socialization and communication.
Following the National Quality Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework, we use play-based learning to help toddlers develop essential skills in a fun, supportive setting. Our homely environment provides familiarity, comfort, and reassurance, crucial for settling into new experiences.
Our approach is child-focused, granting children autonomy within their environment, and interest-based, allowing their natural curiosity to guide decision-making and concentration. Supported by structured outcomes in key developmental areas—personal, social, emotional, cognitive, language, literacy, motor, and self-help—our routines ensure consistency, comfort, and familiarity. The framework establishes boundaries while promoting individuality with age-appropriate expectations and guidance.

Preschool Program
Early childhood is a time when the foundations for thinking and understanding are laid down. All interactions, experiences, activities, routines and events that occur in our preschool environment are designed to foster children’s learning and development.
At Munchkins Kindy our preschool program is specialist play-based educational programs, designed exclusively for children in the years prior to school, typically 3 and 5 year olds.
Our program is led by university qualified Early Childhood Teachers. The educational programs take a holistic approach to your child’s development, extending their competencies and skills as they prepare to make the transition to school.
Getting school-ready is a journey that begins on your child's first day at our welcoming early education centers and continues with our dedicated preschool program. Children learn to make friends, work together, and gain the independence needed to navigate their transition to school. Our small group interactions cater to effective learning, allowing children to grow and connect with educators and peers.
